Barbie, the Computer Engineer

So Mattel allowed people to vote on the 2010 Barbie dolls. Pick a career for Barbie.

Half a million votes later, the popular vote choice for Barbie is that she will be a computer engineer with a pink laptop, matching pink geek glasses, Bluetooth-enabled phone and a dress with a binary-code pattern. Oh yes, and that Barbie body.

LEGO Sets Have Gotten Difficult (and expensive)

LEGO is an abbreviation of the two Danish words leg godt, meaning "play well."

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen, and has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder.

Over the 70 years, it has come from a small carpenter's workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now, in terms of sales, the world's sixth-largest manufacturer of toys.

If you think of LEGOs as kids' toys, you haven't checked out the complexity of the sets these days. take a look at Town Plan, or the may LEGO Star Wars sets like Cloud City, the LEGO Bionicle series such as "Red Toa Vakama" or the Make & Create Café Corner.
